Design Phase Services

You don't put the cart before the horse just like you can't put the build before the design. Custom or Mountain Series, it is the same process. Even if you're purchasing one of our Mountain Series models and don't anticipate wanting any changes, we still take you through our design process as if you were  to ensure you know what exactly is included with your home.

Getting Started

  • See our "Getting Started" timeline to see how to start your tiny home plans with us.

  • The design process requires a non-refundable deposit of $1,500 which is credited to the overall cost of your home when you move onto the build phase. Consider it a deposit on your tiny home build that is used to finalize your design.

  • We use a client portal to communicate during the design phase. Learn more here.

  • Clients work one on one with a member from our design team and have (4) plan drafts through the design phase: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd rough draft and a final draft.

  • Design phase and build phase are separate. Clients do not have to continue forward into a build once their design is complete.

  • Design takes 2-6 weeks on average, pending the amount of changes and customization.

  • We do not assign build slots until a client has completed their design and signed a build contract. This policy is to ensure we aren't saving slots for clients who are not ready to move forward.

  • Design plan deliverables consist of PDF plans of the following:

    • Elevations Interior & Exterior

    • Visual Interior & Exterior

    • Specification Sheet for Utilities, Finishes, Window and Door sizing, and Tech Specs

    • We do not provide Framing Plans to clients

    • We do not provide Detailed Utility Schematics to clients

  • Once the final draft is approved, a certified build quote is supplied as part of the design phase completion.

  • If the certified quote is approved, a build contract must be signed before construction begins.

Common Design FAQ

Q: What kind of design elements are taken into consideration to make my home safe and long-lasting?

A: Outside of just ensuring your home is beautiful and built to match your dreams, we take into consideration the trailer weight distribution, tongue weight, max GVWR, framing requirements, ventilation, material choice based on climate, safety, the functionality of designed areas for high traffic use, utility clearances, and more.

Q: Can you work with an existing design that I have?

A: We welcome all napkin sketches, pinterest boards, saved pictures, and drafted plans! Our design team is highly skilled at evaluating space saving measures and is well versed in tiny home finishes. Should a client ask for a replica be made of an existing model from another manufacturer, we do require permission from that builder prior to construction.

Q: I am overwhelmed. How do I even know where to begin?

A: Designing an entire home from scratch is absolutely overwhelming and we understand analysis paralysis. Let our handy dandy guide help you sort out your designing thoughts!
