Our Approach & FAQ
Hands-On
There is very little substitute for active learning than working and practicing on a real tiny home! Where it's appropriate, you will work on current construction builds to practice your newly-learned skills and get a feel for working on a real tiny home.
Seminar
Utilizing presentation-style seminars, we will breakdown complicated building practices into easy-to-grasp bites. Seminars help break up our teaching style and allow all students a chance to take notes, ask questions, and absorb important information.
Scaled-Down
In order to learn as much as you can in a weekend, we will set-up examples for you to practice on. These scaled-down examples will allow us to cover a larger mix of important construction practices while still providing a hands-on approach.
Q: Where are the classes?
A: Our Tiny Home Build Classes take place in Hampstead, NH (southern NH) at our build shop warehouse.
Q: Can I bring my own tools/PPE?
A: No. We do not allow students to bring their own tools. All personal tools must be left at home/in your vehicle. You may bring your own PPE (personal protection equipment) but it is not required. We will supply all required tools and PPE needed for this class.
Q: Do I need to attend everything?
A: Yes. We require that students attend each discussion topic as information will build upon itself. No partial attendance.
Q: Will I build a tiny home?
A: Yes and no. You will work on an ongoing tiny home build, where appropriate, but you will not build an entire tiny home. Reference our 'Our Approach' section on this page.
Q: How much is the class?
A: The cost for our Tiny Home Building Classes are $399 for the entire class (both Sat and Sun).
Q: Are drink and food provided?
A: We will provide water during this class for all students. We will not provide food. Time for lunch and breaks will be set aside for students to eat the food that they bring/purchase in between class sessions.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: Once paid, your payment is non-refundable unless you cancel within the required time frame. To cancel with a refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance to the start of the class. If you cancel with less than 24 hours to go or no-show, your payment is non refundable.
Q: Can I take photos/videos?
A: Students may take photos/videos during their lunch and/or breaks but not during class.
Q: How long is it? Overnight stay?
A: Each class is a 2-day weekend course that takes place from 7:30am - 5:30pm each day (with time for lunch and breaks). This is not an overnight class. Please arrange for your own sleeping accommodations if you require them.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes. Long hair will need to be tied back when using tools. Dress comfortably!
Q: Is there a minimum age?
A: We require all students who are attending by themselves to be 18 years or older. We allow minor students that are 16-17 years old as long as their guardian attends the class with them. Minors are not allowed to be 'dropped off' for this class.
Q: What experience is needed?
A: None! We do not require students to have any existing construction experience. No student is required to participate during hands-on sections of our classes should they wish to observe instead. If you're already in the trades, this class will be full of information you cannot find elsewhere.
